A lot of people have been asking me questions on how I make my hair, so I decided to do a quick tutorial on how I achieve my curls.
Use the right hair products for your hair type when doing twist out. You may need to experiment with a few products to find out the right/suitable products for your hair type. Go for products that offer some type of hold such as alcohol free gel, bouncy curly or moisturisers. You might need to use a combination of products to get the best results.
What I used for my hair: water mixed with olive oil, beez wax, & hair moisturiser (find out here how I mix my hair moisturiser
- I washed my hair with shampoo & conditioner. I pat dried my hair before moisturising and sectioned my hair into four parts. I then took smaller pieces within each section and saturated it with the beez wax & a mixture of olive oil and water to seal in the moisture before twisting the hair.
- Once you have finished doing the twist out use bobby pins to stretch out the twist out.
- The next morning take out the twists and style your hair.
- Once you’ve worn a twist-out all day, you need to care for your hair before going to bed. Use either a satin huge hair bonnet that wont flatten your hair or you can re-twist your hair before going to bed.
Note: Smaller twists lead to better & long lasting twist-outs. The longer you leave twists in, the stronger the set for your twist-out, and the longer it’s likely to last.
