M&S have joined high end designers as they present their first designer menswear range on the catwalk at London Collections: Men. The M&S menswear AW14 collection preview show took place at the Hospital Club in London today.
Inspired by M&S’s rich heritage, the menswear AW14 collection features classic & timeless pieces mixed in a more contemporary way in form of Prince of Wales check jackets, single and double breasted jackets, tweed blazers, luxurious silk bow ties, silk pocket squares, velvet tuxedo jackets, pinstripe trousers, man bags, turtle necks, suede jackets and black & white gingham shirt. The collection features knitwear in form of shawl neck collared cable knits, soft knit polo necks and cashmere. The collection features earth tones (chocolate brown, camel and taupe.)
The head of menswear design Tony O’Connor said he got his inspiration from stylish British icons such as former 007 Sir Roger Moore and the late Sir David Frost. He told the Sunday Times that ‘these are classic pieces mixed in a more contemporary way.’ If you’re still not convinced, every piece in this collection is created with premium fabrics and is hand finished.
