On Friday I had two shows to attend, one was for Zoe Jordan (which I will talk about it later on) and the other one was for Bora Aksu. Bora Aksu is a London based Turkish designer. During his career Aksu has collaborated with other international brands like Topshop, converse, Nike, Anthropologie, Absolute, Koton, Armaggan, People, Tree among many others.
Bora Aksu AW 2013 collection was inspired by Jenny and Rosie, the Dolly Sisters. Bora Aksu collection was all about leather and shearling garments.
The collection contained silhouettes, corsets and contrasting fabrics. There was also the use of leather in this collection marking a shift towards masculine style. Leather was incorporated across the body in skirts, dresses, corset panels and collars.
Another key addition for BORA AKSU was the extended outwear from leather capes to cropped jackets that feature Art Deco motifs. Softening the collection are the luxury coated silks, wool embroideries and laminated laces.
Bora Aksu collection maintain the romance and femininity of his signature. This collection offers women more strength, inspired by a time where they flouted conventions and controlled their own destiny
