How to wear monochrome trend

We are going back to basic this Spring/Summer 2013 with the monochrome trend which is classic, timeless and super chic.

This trend is not just about wearing black and white, it’s all about having fun with variety of patterns and textures which will scream simplicity and sophistication.

I wore a white shirt, black jeans & shoes and I also added some gold jewellery to complete this look and it a bit fun.

I also went for the big afro hair which kind of reminded me of Tina Turner in the 80s.

This time around the monochrome trend has moved on from being simple to complex.

This time monochrome comes in form of polka dot, dogtooth, tweed, stripes, checkerboard patterns, chevron, colour blocking as long is black and white or white/ black you’re good to go.

Here are a few tips: when wearing monochrome make sure your white are white not cream that will be cheating, and stick to tailored/fitted clothes rather than float clothes which don’t work very well with this trend. Have fun with your outfit by throwing in some chunky accessories.

What I wore: wedge heels: TK Maxx, zipper jeans: H&M, white shirt: Matalan, gold cuff: Warehouse

You can pair white pants/skirt and black shirt/blouse or vice versa (like the way I wore mine). You can also wear a white dress and thrown in a black belt or accessories. The bottom line is this trend is so easy and anything goes in terms of shorts, skirts, pants, jeans, dresses, jumpers, blazer, shoes, handbags, as long as is black or white you should pull off this trend.
