As the release date for Phillip Lim for Target approaches, more sneak peeks have been revealed. Looking at the photos the designer has brought some of his end creativity to the line.
Mr Lim said in a statement ‘It will feature bags, accessories, leather jackets and basic apparel for both men and women, which are ‘cool and chic, but still very accessible. The designer also said that the collaboration is personal for him as he was once a Target customer. He said ‘My parents were always taking me to Target for back-to-school shopping, and I would find things, but they were not quite right,’ ‘This was my chance to go back and relive this and do it right.’ Phillip Lim announced the collaboration with the retailer in May, after a ‘courtship of five years,’ the designer told Wall Street Journal. He explained ‘What was exciting to me this time around was that they gave me the opportunity to do lifestyle instead of a capsule collection of dresses or something, ‘It was the chance to really create a new concept of the modern day wardrobe and accessories to really address the modern day citizen.’
The face of campaign is Tao Okamoto the model & actress who appeared in The Wolverine movie.Phillip Lim for Target 100 piece collection features bold patterns, neutral palette, camo, leopard & graphic print. According to T magazine, the collection – which ranges in price from $19.99 to $299.99 – is divided into morning, noon and night wardrobes.
Men’s collection features a pair of white high-top sneakers, and a navy blue button down with camouflage patterning on the sleeve. Menswear that will take your from day to night by swapping a leather jacket for a trench coat for an evening look.
Phillip Lim for Target hit the shelves & retail website on September 15.
