Remotes and entertainment system: If you’re like us we have more than three remote controls, you can assigned a designated area or container to keep them or get rid of the ones you don’t use.
Furniture: If you have an unused piece of furniture especially side tables when you have a coffee table, you can get rid of them by passing them on to your friends, neighbours or donate to a charity shop.
Create a play zone: If you have kids and your living room ends up being used as a playroom. We suggest creating a play zone for your kids to entertain themselves. The average child plays with just 5% of the toys. Have a storage basket units where you store toys in baskets and keep other toys out of reach and rotate the toys every week or month. Always encourage your kids to return to the relevant baskets.
Tidy up your paperwork: If you use your living as part of a home office, try as much as possible to tidy up your paper works by either investing in a filing cabinet or computer desk that has enough storage. Remember to keep your payslips for 22 months after the tax year that you received them and if you’re self employed or run a business, keep your bank statements and all business records for 5 years.
Media and magazines: Declutter your DVDs and CDs by donating them to charity as many of them will be on streaming websites or online.
