The fashion world has gone all crazy for everything shiny. A part from being a nightmare to get them off, and look cheap & tacky, PVC items are flattering and will give you a trimmer silhouette. PVC are a must have items this season if you’re feeling adventurous.

Designers have turned to PVC to give clothes sheen. PVC was first seen at Burberry, Jonathan Saunders & Ederm collection who sent models down the catwalk in wet look clothes. PVC which is also known as polyvinyl chloride was first used in fashion in 1963 by Mary Quant. She used PVC in her collection titled ‘wet collection’.

PVC is a cheaper alternative to leather and it doesn’t have to cost you a fortune as you can wear a PVC rain coat and you’ll be bang on trend. Avoid wearing PVC in hot weather to prevent it from burning your skin. PVC items range from skirts, dresses, tops, raincoats, bags & shoes.

How to wear PVC

Pair a bright coloured PVC pencil skirt with a neutral coloured blouse or top with ankle strap heels & a clutch bag for an evening look. Rita Ora the queen of PVC has been spotted in numerous occasions rocking PVC. Rita paired a grey PVC sleeveless maxi dress with double slits on the side. She teamed up her dress with a statement necklace, trainers, her signature red lipstick & bracelets.  Elle Macpherson paired her PVC high waist pants with a white blouse and black Christian Louboutin for a stylish 70s look. Rita wore a PVC dress that featured a skater skirt which she wore with boots for her stage performance. Rita has definitely have a thing for PVC, she wore a black PVC flame printed crop top with a matching PVC mini skirt  from Meat 2012 collection, which she paired black trainers for a fun cheeky look.
