The Great Gatsby
The Great Gatsby is the latest hot movie starring Carey Mulligan that has inspired the Gatsby trend. The Great Gatsby doesn’t debut until May but we are already seeing this trend on the catwalk and high streets and this 1920s trend won’t be losing its affection anytime soon.
This trend is all about pretty flapper style dresses, fringe, peter pan collars, marabou trims and feathers.
When rocking 1920s fashion keep your make up to a minimum and opt for a creamy matte complexion, dark eyes and a deep red, plum or brownish red lipstick. Bob and finger wave were favourite hair styles in the 1920s, but if you don’t have a bob or finger wave hairs style why not recreate one.
When it comes to accessories opera gloves, diamond pieces, Art Deco charm, oversize rings, geometric patterns, colourful stones and pearls are Gatsby signature jewellery.
Here are a few way to channel the Gatsby trend and look like Daisy Buchanan. Pair a drop waisted dress with flat shoes for a chic look. For a modern Gatsby look pair feathered dress with clean simple make up and heels. Wear a sleek modern silhouette dress and bold accessories. Prints were a big part of the 1920s Gatsby trend, wear geometric prints dress with kitten heels and minimal accessories to pull off this Gatsby look.
Wear a shift dress which is perfect beach cover up. Pair a Peter pan dress with T-bar shoe and keep your make up to minimal for a casual look.
