New York Fashion Week kicked off a few days ago and Jill Stuart sent the models down the runway wearing sixties (60s) & rock & roll theme. Monochrome & crop top trends dominated the runaway as these trends are definitely set to endure through summer spring 2014.
Jill Stuart collection showcased rock & roll looks by the use of leather fabric, lace mini dresses, peek-a-boo dresses, cut-outs trend, sheer clothes, chunky wooden platforms, biker girl style with a feminine twist. On the other side of the fabric spectrum, soft, floaty babydoll dresses took their inspiration from lingerie, with sheer, lightweight fabric and black lace floral detailing.
Denim on denim was also heavily featured on the runway for 60s look where models wore denim bandeau crop top with matching mini skirt. The designer explained backstage that her edgy collection was inspired by ‘rock star girlfriends on holiday’.
