The London Fashion week kicked off a few days ago with many designers showcasing their autumn-winter 2014 collections. Below is a recap of what the designers have instore for us 

Bora Aksu autumn-winter 2014 collection

The Turkey born designer sent models down the catwalk wearing perforated skirts, jackets & tops, leather pencil skirts & tops, sequin pencil skirts & dresses, pastel dresses & skirts, sheer tops, knitwear with leather patch, burgundy, navy blue & candy hues, cropped leather jackets with printed trims, dresses with high collar, biker jackets, sheer/transparent pochos, capes, full skirts, cropped knits and Peter pan collars.

Julien Macdonald Autumn Winter 2014 collection

Julien Macdonald Autumn Winter collection was inspired by architecture and stained glass windows.  Julien Macdonald showcased dazzling dresses that feature embellishments, sequin, fishnet, splash of feathers, off shoulder, transparent train, optical illusion, metallic mosaics, snake print, thigh high slits, cut outs, peacock inspired dresses.

Jasper Conran Autumn Winter 2014 collection

JasperConran showcased his signature style of timeless and contemporary pieces to suit British style. Jasper Conran Autumn Winter collection featured skimming dresses in delicate fabrics that accentuate the body. His collection contained, tailored skirt suits, sheer delicate fabrics with polka dot & stripes, lingerie inspired dresses/cami dresses, silk tulle dresses, sheer tops, tailored cigarette pants, soft leatherjackets, dresses with cutaway backs, striped dresses, hues of candy, orange, camel & black, metallic sequin dresses. Jasper Conran collection can be worn to the office and evening.

John Rocha Autumn Winter 2014 collection

Volume was the key for John Rocha Autumn Winter collection. The designer sent the models down the runway wearing ruffles dresses & blouses that go all the way covering the head, see-through black organza ball gowns, chiffon & tulle, lace,  velvelt & crochet fabric, see through dresses with colourful 3D flowers, tweed coats, trousers & skirts. The designer injected some colours (red, black & white) to his collection and the models wore patent leather shoes with socks.

J. W. Anderson Autumn Winter 2014 collection

J. W. Anderson showcased draped & slashed tops, funnel neck tops, floor length skirts, neutral & winter whites’ colours, Japanese style pieces, cropped tops and velvet & wool fabrics. This is not our favourite collection from J. W. Anderson as is not wearable but with that said I am sure J. W. Anderson fans won’t agree with us.

Richard Nicoll Autumn-winter 2014-15 Ready to wear collection

Richard Nicoll does not disappoint when it comes to his collection. He describes his collection as simplicity, opulence, ease, modernist, romance, textures, realism and aspirational. The designer used teal, magenta, blue, grey and gold colour palettes for his collection.  His Autumn-winter 2014-15 Ready to wear collection features bomber jackets, leather dresses, capes, culottes, masculine looks, knitwear, structures blazers & tailored trousers, dresses with multiple slits, subtle plaid pieces, dresses & blouses with raffles and metallic gold pieces.

Paul Smith Autumn-winter 2014-15 Ready to wear collection

If you thought you’ve had enough of pyjama trend, think again as this trend is set to continue throughout autumn winter 2014 & 2015. Paul Smith sent models down the catwalk wearing loose pyjamas bottoms & tops without forgetting the gown. The designer was inspired by tapestry prints for paisley patterns and wallpaper. His collection featured pinstripe pyjama tops & bottoms, paisley dressing gown inspired dresses, paisley pieces, floral bomber jackets, baroque pieces trousers, masculine pieces, knit wears, pinstripe suits, overcoats, fur coats and scarves tied around the neck.

Topshop Unique autumn-winter 2014-2015 collection

This is what the affordable brand Topshop, have in store for us in autumn-winter 2014. The Topshop unique collection features, cropped knit wear, belted coats, pinafore dresses, padded puffa parkas, sheer & sequin pieces, sweatshirts, knee length boots, leather biker jackets, fur coats, fur gilets, leather pencil skirts, snake print long coats, capes, shearling coats, midi length skirts, turtle necks, culottes, shorts, floral pieces, prom dresses and patchwork coats.

Tom Ford autumn-winter 2014-2015 collection

Tom Ford collection featured black velvet dresses, fur coats, tailored pieces, cowboy boots, leather jacket, cheetah print pony skin skirt with matching top, white monochrome suit skirt, animal print coat, leather skirts & tops, animal print bomber jackets and sporty dresses.

Burberry Prorsum’s autumn/winter 2014 collection

Burberry Prorsum showcased loose, swirled and swished pieces, see through chiffon & lace dresses, long scarves  cinched at the waist with a belt, trench coats, sheepskin coats, men’s mesh vests, printed trench coats,  fur coats, thigh high slit dresses, men’s floral shirts, sheer tops, zig-zag pencil skirt, over the shoulder blankets.

Ederm autumn-winter 2014 collection

Ederm autumn-winter 2014 collection featured embroidered cut out dresses, jacquard dresses, short hemlines, silk dress embellished in stonking ruby crystals, velvet dresses, cape like dresses, sheer pieces, fur coats with embellishments, cape coats, tailored coats, sleeveless coats, coats with cut out sleeves, floral shift dresses, one shoulder jacquard dresses.
