African Fashion Week London
African Fashion Week London was absolutely fabulous. We loved every moment of it. The models strut their stuff on the runway and the designers did not disappoint either. For the next few weeks we’ll be updating you guys with what went down at Olympia London where the show took place. We have loads of street fashion photos that we can’t wait to share with you once we finish editing them. Please don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel here.
Noir is African inspired ready-to-wear fashion brand that was founded in January 2014 by Ndeyfatou Ceesay. The brand is defined by style and not a culture and is a mixture of bohemian chic trends, incorporating intricate West African techniques in the detailing. Noir is steadily gaining traction in Gambia-it’s home country- and breaking out into the international fashion scene.
The Fashion designers
Noir presented the ‘Embeaded’ collection at Africa Fashion Week London which was all about sophistication and classy. The designer sent models down the catwalk dressed in sheer, sequin dresses with a hint of ankara/kitenge/chitenge/African print.
This is what Miss Cessay had to say about her ‘Embeaded’ , “Using embroidery, beading and patchwork locally known as ‘Bai Faal’ in Gambia, EMBEADED is the name of our Africa Fashion Week London collection, these techniques add a subtle yet bold touch to each of the pieces. The 3 main colors of this collection despite the Ankara detail are Black, White and a very rich shade of Red”.
