Hope y’all having a lovely week so far. My weekend was quite a busy one apart from that the weather didn’t help as it rained the whole day on Bank holiday Monday, so much for the beginning of summer.
I paired my stripe peplum top with a stretchy skirt, bangles, heels, tribal necklace and a red tote bag to create a sense fun and Riviera chic into a classic look.
Stripes trend come in various colours, sizes, width and styles. This trend is so straight it comes in form of horizontal, vertical, diagonal, thick and thin. Stripe is the trend to watch this SS13. A few designers such as Vivienne Westwood, Jonathan Saunders and Dolce & Gabbana have been parading stripes on the catwalk.
Tips on wearing stripes
Here are a few key rules to bear in mind while wearing stripes, if you’re curvy it’s best you wear vertical stripes as they tend to draw the eyes up and down rather than sideways. If you have a big bust wear vertical stripes on your top half as they create an illusion of a smaller bust. If you’re petite or have a boyish figure wear large/small horizontal stripes to accentuate the little curves you have. If you’re a pear shape wear large horizontal stripes on your top half to deflect attention from your hips/bottom half.
On the other hand peplums are so versatile and flatter your figure. They can be worn by everyone regardless of their sizes and shape. Peplum trend tend to make you look thinner and gives an illusion of a smaller waist. They can be worn for a formal or informal event
Ways of wearing stripe peplum top
Here are ways one can wear a stripe peplum top, one can pair a peplum stripe top with a pencil skirt and heels for a chic look. Pair a stripe peplum blouse with skinny jeans and flat shoes/heels for a relaxing look. Wear a stripe peplum top with a pair of shorts and heels for a brunch look. For statement look pair a stripe peplum blouse with a different type of stripe skirt or patterned/floral pants and heels.
