Here are a few tips that I want to share with you guys. Some of these things we repeatedly do them without realising that they cause more harm than good to us.
- Did you know that washing your face in the morning with harsh cleansers and scrubs causes damage to your skin by stripping your skin of essential oil? Celebs like Salma Hayek admitted that she achieves her skin perfection by never washing her face when she wakes up in the morning. The best skincare regime is to wash your face only at night before going to bed because when you sleep your skin generates, increases collagen production and reestablishes its pH. All you need to do in the morning is to splash your face with water and moisturising it or if you really have to clean your face due to some make up from previous night use a mild cleanser that doesn’t contain harsh detergent and never go to bed without removing your makeup and washing your face .
- Is not necessary to exfoliate your face too much as this removes layers of your skin cells and oils causing irritation and dryness to your skin. You should exfoliate your face and body not more than once or twice a week. For those with oily skin try using products with glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or enzyme-based peel and be gently to your skin.
- Avoid as much a spossible to wrap your hair up in a towel as this will cause your hair shafts to break easily. Treat your crowning glory with love and care by moving down your mane in sections and gently squeezing any excess water with a towel. Otherwise use a cotton t-shirt instead of a towel to wrap your hair as the fabric is gentle on hair.
- Avoid moving your mascara wand in and out which forces air into the tube which may aid germs to grow and multiply and also will cause your mascara to dry quickly. Break this habit by gently pulling out the mascara wand by moving it around inside the tube and scraping the edge to keep your mascara fresh and bacteria free.
- Avoiding piling on skin products because some ingredients in your beauty products can fight each other causing skin irritation and damage when combined. Do your homework to find out the ingredients that your beauty products contain and find out if they interract with each other or if in doubt ask your dermatologist who will be able to help.
- Don’t neglect your neck, you should moisturise your neck and use sun cream to prevent it to show signs of aging faster. Apply your moisturiser using upward motion and avoid using harsh soaps, detergents cleanser.
