Makeup is supposed to enhance your features and mask any unwanted spots. However lately we have seen some ladies who are so addicted to make up that they can’t dare leave their house without it. When it comes to make up make sure you choose/buy the right make up that suit your skin tone to avoid looking like a clown.
Step by step guide on how to apply your make up
Moisturiser
Moisturiser keeps your skin fresh and hydrated. It also ensures that concealer & foundation go on smoothly and evenly.
Corrector & Concealer
Start with a corrector to cover up dark circles or when you need extra coverage to brighten and neutralize discolouration under the eyes. Use the concealer brush to apply corrector close to the lashline and innermost corner of the eye, gently blending it with your fingers.
Then apply the concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone directly over the corrector.
Foundation
Spot apply the foundation using your fingers or make up sponge, especially on the areas where the skin needs to be evened out (i.e. around the mouth and nose). For allover coverage, use a foundation brush to apply and blend the foundation.
Powder
Apply loose powder over concealer using an eye blender brush or mini powder puff for long wear and crease free. Apply powder to the rest of your face using a powder puff or powder brush.
Bronzer & Blush
Dust bronzing powder over the cheeks, nose, forehead, chin and neck using the bronzer brush to add a warm tint to the skin. Smile and dust a neutral shade of Blush on the apples of cheeks with the blush brush. Blend up towards the hairline, then downwards to soften colour. For a longer lasting look, layer a pop of bright blush on the apples of cheeks over the neutral shade.
To find your perfect nude shade of lipstick use the natural colour of your lips as a guide. For a natural looking definition, line lips with lip liner after applying lip colour. Use the lip brush to soften and blend any hard edges.
Brows
For a natural look, define brows with eye shadow that matches your hair colour; use the eye definer brush or eye brow brush to apply shadow. Begin at the inner corner of the brow and follow its natural shape using light, feathery strokes.
Eye shadow
Use the eye shader brush to apply a light eye shadow colour from lashline to browbone. Apply a medium eye shadow colour on the lower lid, up to the crease using the eye shadow brush.
Eye liner
Line the upper lashline with a dark eye shadow colour that you applied with the eye liner brush. Damp the brush before dipping into shadow or use long wear gel eye liner with the ultra-fine eye liner brush for a longer lasting look.
Mascara
If you opt for curl lashes, be sure to do this before applying mascara as curling lashes after mascara makes them prone to breakage. Apply 2 to 3 coats of mascara, brushing from base of lashes to the tips. Roll the wand as you go to separate lashes and avoid clumps.
