5 ways of taking care of your face during the lockdown

With a lot of spas and beauty salon being shut due to Covid-19, life has never been the same. A lot of us have had our faces and hair neglected for a couple of months now. If you’re in that category, worry not as we here to give you a few diy facial tips on how take care of your face.

Ways on how to take care of your face at home

  1. Wash/Cleanse your face twice: Washing/cleansing your face twice helps remove even the most stubborn traces of products, make up and dirt.
  2. Exfoliate to get rid of dead skin: Try to exfoliate your skin once a week and don’t forget to apply the sunscreen the following morning.
  3. Steaming your face: Steaming opens pores, eases congestion and increase blood circulation. If you don’t own a face steamer worry not as you only need a bowl with boiled water, cover your head with a towel and steam for five minutes, is as simple as that.
  4. Face masks: Masks are perfect for getting rid of impurities. For those who have combination skin, try and apply different types of masks to different areas i.e. apply clay based mask on oilier areas and a more hydrating mask on drier areas.
  5. Use toner: Apply toner to clean skin to refresh, hydrate and soothe. Then use a skin serum followed by a night cream in the evening. Try applying lotion while your skin is a bit damp as this will help the product to absorb more easily and you will use less product. When applying cream or moisturiser on your face use upward, sweeping strokes, starting with your décolletage and neck, working your way up to the cheeks, and then forehead.
