Eyelashes extension procedure works by having individual synthetic lashes attached to the wearer’s lashes for a fuller look. I have heard a few cases of people complaining about the synthetic eyelashes extension which have caused them eye irritation to the point that they had to get them removed.
Apparently the adhesive used by beauty salon contains formaldehyde which is highly toxic to all animals regardless of method of intake and irritates the eyes. According to Philip R Rizutto said ‘Sometimes just the irritation from the glue used can lead women to rub or tug on their lashes,’ adding that many ophthalmologists have reported a rise in patients with problems relating to eyelash extensions’.
According to UK’s college of Optometrists ‘Repeated use of eyelash extensions can cause traction alopecia, a condition where the hair falls out due to excessive tension placed on the hair shaft,’ a press release stated. ‘As a result, this can damage the hair follicle, which can slow down and even cease production of hair.’
