Here is a natural treatment on how to lighten your skin especially if you have dark spots, blemishes or uneven skin tone. Most of these ingredients can be found in your kitchen cupboard/fridge or in your local supermarket.
Ingredients you need: ¼ lemon, ½ lime, ½ avocado, ¼ cucumber, rose water and glycerine.
Benefit of lemon juice on the skin: Lemon helps cleanse the skin as well as lightening it over a period of time. It gets rid of freckles, blackheads, pimples and age spots.
Benefit of lime juice on the skin: Lime contains citrus which is an inhibitor of melanin production hence reducing the signs of aging. It cleanses the skin by reducing bacteria and dead skin cells. Lime has astringents properties which tightens pores and reduced oil production for a clearer and brighter complexion.
Benefit of avocado on skin: Avocado nourishes and maintain skin tone, it soften dry, rough or flaking skin. Avocados are full of antioxidants, carotenoids, vitamin E which protects the skin from wrinkles and other signs of aging. Avocado maintains the skin elasticity and firmness.
Benefit of cucumber on skin: Cucumber have high water content, Vitamins A, B and C and minerals like magnesium, potassium, manganese and silica making it an essential part of skin care. Cucumber has moisturising and soothing properties to the skin. It helps in soothing and cleansing the skin making it soft and supple.
Place the ¼ avocado, 3 table spoon of lemon juice, 3 tablespoon of lime juice, cucumber, glycerine and rosewater in a bowl. If you don’t have a blender, use a fork to mash the ingredients together. If the mixture is too thick add ¼ glass of water and mix well.
- Wash your face and apply the mask to the face or the areas with blemishes and spots.
- Leave the mask for 10-15 minutes then rinse off with warm water
- Dry your face with a clean face towel and moisturise and tone as usual
