Your body can absorb caffeine through the skin and coffee is great skins exfoliate. Coffee facial scrub will get rid of dead skin cell and reveal a new healthy skin.
This scrub is super easy to make, the ratio of coffee to oil is 3: 2. You’ll need 3 tablespoon of ground coffee (or coffee beans), 2 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil & peppermint essential oil (optional) or lemon juice.
If the coffee is too coarse there’s no harm of blending it to make it fine. Make sure the ground coffee is fine as your skin is very sensitive and you don’t want your exfoliate to be too rough on your skin. The olive oil will act as a lubricant providing your skin with moisture & keeping it soft and hydrated.
Place the ground coffee in a bowl then add olive oil and a few drops of peppermint/lemon juice and mix well. The mask will look like coarse mud when done mixing.
Wash your face and apply the scrub by massaging it into your face in a circular motion. Be gentle around the eyes. Leave the mask for 15-20minutes before rinsing your face with warm water.
To get rid of the excess oil you may have to place your face towel under running hot water, then wring it out slightly and place it over your face until its cool/cold. This will create steam against the skin and remove oil, dirt and impurities in the skin. Repeat this until you get rid of any excess oil on your face.
Splash cold water on your face to close your skin pore and tone and moisturise as normal.
