Update your summer/spring wardrobe with checkerboard prints which were inspired by Marc Jacobs at the Louis Vuitton SS13 show last year at Paris Fashion week which has left us saying check mate to this latest trend.
Check prints are classic, timeless and are versatile way to add colour and pattern into your outfit without looking too girly and this print can be worn throughout the season. Check prints come in different sizes and vibrant colours such as tartan and plaid not necessarily just black and white.
If you’re not bold enough wear one piece of checked item at a time, this will make the check print the highlight of your outfit and pair it with a neutral colour clothing items or can also be worn as a part of a monochrome look. For the brave hearted you can wear checks with different prints/patterns. For the fashion dare devils why not mix two different checks in one look for a statement look? By this I mean mix small & large check prints together or go for different colours of checks.
Wear a checked top and striped trousers/skirt with patent heels for an edgy look. For a monochrome look wear black and white checked trousers with blazer/jumper and white or black top/shoes. Wear a checked dress with bright colours shoes such as red for sophisticated look. For a cute fun look wear a check dress with ankle strap heels. Pair a solid colour dress with a checked jacket or blazer. Pair your checked blouse with floral print cropped pants and pointed heels.
