Cloaks are definitely autumn/winter 2013 throw on and go item. They are so versatile and can be worn by both men and women. This trend was spotted in Valentino AW13 show where the models were dressed in capes.
Fur and Leather – Leather and fur are leading the runway for autumn/winter 2013. Leather & fur are stylish items that adds instant edge to your wardrobe. Leather and fur are not only versatile but will keep you warm during the cold months. This AW13 incorporate fur and leather in your outfit for an elegant and a grunge look. Pair skinny jeans with a white top, boots and leather jacket for a rock and roll look. Team up a faux fur coat with your sequin dress and heels for a glamorous look.
Denim – Denims are wardrobe staples and we simply can’t do without out them. Denim come in form of pants, jackets, shorts, and skirts. Denim are so versatile they can be worn with almost anything and look good.
Statement accessories: Accessories make up the outfit, wear statement pieces with your outfit for a maximum impact. Accessories are great as they can transform a boring outfit into something fabulous.
Prints – AW13 is all about prints, go bold or go home. Prints come in many shapes and types. From floral to baroque print, medieval to geometric prints wear prints in AW13 regardless of the weather. Keep accessories to a minimum and let the prints do all the work for your outfit. Leopard print was spotted in Jean Paul Gaultier AW13 collection.
Tweed– Tweeds are going to be a hit in AW13. Chanel sent models down the catwalk wearing tweed suits and tweed jackets. Tweed is so versatile it can take you from one style to another from rock chic look to lady like look.
Cashmere– Cashmeres are light, soft, elegant, versatile and incredibly warm. This trans-seasonal sweater will see you stylishly through both cool and warmer-weather seasons. Cashmere are ideal when teamed up with trousers/skirt/ and blouse for a stylish look. Cashmere can also be layered over a jacket for cold seasons.
Monochrome: Monochrome trend is here to stay and it’s a must have style this autumn winter 2013. Black and whites are easy to wear and can be paired with almost anything. Viktor & Rolf dressed the models in black outfits for their AW13 collection.
Colours of AW13: Black, nude, grey, brown, neutrals red are the colours of AW13. Most designers have incorporated these colours in their AW13 collection.
Lace – lace is stylish, elegant and versatile. Lace can be dressed up for a formal occasion or dressed down for a day look.
Camouflage/military print– this trend is big this summer and is set to get bigger in autumn/winter 2013. Army inspired camouflage pieces come inform of t-shirts, jackets, parkas, shirts, sweatshirts, dresses and skirts. Camo jackets/parkas can be teamed up with shorts, jeans and graphic t-shirts for 90s grunge style.
Sheer clothes – sheer clothes remain a statement trend for fashionistas in autumn/winter 2013. These pieces are elegant, stylish and feminine. These pieces can be worn with thicker fabrics/under garments to avoid exposing too much skin.
Tartan – From the traditional red & green tartans to salmon pink, tartan prints are going to be huge in AW13. Vivienne Westwood, McQueen and Chanel are known for sending models down the runway in tartans. The trend has also been spotted in Primark, & River Island AW13 collections.
