4 Ways of Using Baking Soda as Beauty Product 1

Baking soda also known as sodium bicarbonate is used for baking and cleaning in many homes. Emma Stone has revealed that she uses baking soda to exfoliate her skin.  The kitchen ingredient which cost less than £1.50 can also be used as beauty and medicinal purpose.

  • Exfoliate – Baking soda is coarse but not too coarse and its best for removing the top layer of the dead skin and dry patches. Baking soda won’t cause sensitive skin to become red or irritated and will leave you with a glowing complexion. Make a paste using baking soda and water and gently use on your face or as a body scrub. I personally I can vouch for baking soda as I have used it to exfoliate my face and every time I used it does wonders to my skin by getting rid of all the dead cells and does not scratch or leave marks on my face. Always exfoliate your face once or twice a week and not more than that.
  • Deodorant to stop underarm sweating – Baking soda can be used as a very good deodorizer. Mix a spoonful of baking soda in a glass of water and add three drops of lavender oil. Now, spray this solution on your armpits.
  • Homemade detox bath – Mix apple cider vinegar with baking soda in a bath, is best for pain relief and detoxing.
  • Washing your hair – Sprinkle a small amount of baking soda and mix it with your shampoo. Shampoo your hair as you would normally do and rinse thoroughly, since shampoo contains lots of surfactants, so baking soda will help to get rid of any residue shampoo leave behind leaving your hair clean.
