There quiet a number of ways you can use the wallpaper to revamp not only the walls but also furniture in your home. Since the lockdown a lot of people have been trying to keep their minds off things by doing diy projects. Wallpaper are still on trend and if you have any roll left instead of getting rid of it you can use it for a number of different things.
Below are a few things you could do with wallpapers
Cover the ceiling: Yes as much shocking as it sounds but wallpapers can be used to cover the ceiling to create a unique look. Go for statement or textured paper to draw attention to the ceiling.
On the staircase: Make a statement with your staircase by applying patterned paper to the stair risers. Make sure you keep it uniform or alternate prints for a bold statement look.
On furniture (chest of drawers or dresser): If you don’t like your chest of drawers or dresser a patterned, textured or colourful paper is a cheaper way to give it a new lease of life. You can apply a pattern paper all over the drawer or to the inside of the drawers for a subtle peek-a-boo effect.
Wallpaper on a lampshade: If you’re tired of your current lampshade you don’t need to throw it away and buy another one. Just give it a bit of makeover by applying your favourite wallpaper. You can apply the wallpaper on the outside or the inside of your lampshade. We suggest using a spray adhesive or white craft glue for a clean finish.
Hang wallpaper as art: If you want to make cheap and yet stylish wall art, use any colourful printed or patterned paper frame and hang it on the wall. Another option is to hang a long piece of paper and install dowels to both ends so it looks like a scroll.
Decorate the back/inside of your bookcase/cupboards: If you have any left over wallpapers, you can cut to fit the inside of your bookcase/cupboards to add a bit of flair to it. If you don’t want to apply the wallpaper directly to the furniture, we suggest using foam core that fit the area where you want to place the paper and apply the wallpaper directly to it.
Wallpaper as book covers: If you fancy big decorative books but don’t have enough cash lying around, why not use any pretty textured wallpaper off-cuts to cover any large book in your house i.e. a dictionary etc. and use it to decorate your coffee or console table.
