We love to be warm during winter season but central heating can cause a lot of damage on your complexion – face, body, legs and hands. Central heating leaves your legs looking flaky, rough, scratchy hips.
Central heating tends to strip of the skin natural moisture, and when the skin becomes dry the lipids in the skin which prevent water loss are lost this will cause the skin to dry and start to itch. Other problems include dry or chapped lips.
Use humidifiers to help moisturise the air, or leave a bowl of water near a radiator. Stop using harsh detergents on your skin, and drink plenty of water during winter to retain body fluids. Eat food that nourishes your body such as food rich Food rich in Vitamin A, C, D, E, and Omega 3 rich food.
Use a hand cream/body cream containing SPF and UVA protection and use products that contain humectants (hygroscopic substance used in foods and cosmetic products to help retain moisture) and lipids.
